June 4, 2016. The Rogers Park Web Creators took part in Lumity’s inaugural “2016 SBE (Student Based Enterprise) Competition” this past Saturday. The DigiSoldiers took top honors at the event which was a culmination of the efforts of local business partners and some newly tech-savvy teenage entrepreneurs. All three teams unveiled the websites they had created for their clients and were judged by a panel of Chicago business leaders. The teams were evaluated on a variety of components including their ability to communicate client business challenges, project plans, and a demonstration of their clients’ newly enhanced web presence.
The winning DigiSoldiers team includes Tooba Hanif, Daood Shah, Ramsha Essa, Christine Milly and Danielle Keuni. Each student received a laptop for their efforts for redesigning the Pet Portraiture site.
We are grateful to the business partners who made the event possible including Accenture, Chicagoland Workforce Funders Alliance, The Rogers Park Business Alliance, Slalom Consulting, Tableau Consulting, and CompTIA.
All student teams who participated in the Rogers Park Web Creator program are considered winners. They’ve mastered the art of creating a website, learned how to manage a client project, and have one step up in their STEM careers.
Congratulations to Magally Solis, Patrice Torres, Olalekan Akinola, Uthman Adebayo, Oumar Keita, Alexis Sanchez, Kushal Rizal, Robel Woldegerima, and Jonathan Gonzalez. Very well done!
